Secret Jane + Mother Sky + Nathaniel Robin Mann + The Wilderness Of Manitoba @ Colchester Arts Centre « Read Less
Yet again a lovely friend of mine invited me to come and check out folk gig at the Arts Centre, and you know me I cannot say no! Even if I was tired, it was so lovely, the acts were beyond amazing, the music really allowed me to just sit and relax after I have taken few shots from each act. Sadly, I reached the highest level of tiredness and before I fall asleep I decided to leave bit early. Shame tho!
Secret Jane was surprisingly good (no offence guys), but you know how it usually is when friends are in a band, you kind of have to go with it and tell them they are alright. But thankfully I did not have to lie nor suck up to anyone, because Secret Jane were beyond good. Christine's (vocals & lyrics) voice did blow me away, especially how well it blend in with the instruments. Plus, it's not just her that deserve a massive jar of cookies but rest of the guys too.
Mother Sky is a band that I would listen when I'm trying to do something creative as paint or design. As they began playing, all I wished to do was stand/sit calm and listen, nothing else mattered; very melodic and hypnotic. Plus, they had bit of an edge that I loved.
Nathaniel Robin Mann, a man of an amazing voice, he came from nowhere, his voice made me weak at knees because I did not expect something so beautiful. Plus I were not the only one who thought so, song after song, the crowed kept cheering including me even with my sleepy eyes.
Lastly, The Wilderness Of Manitoba is such a good band, amazing live too. Sadly I didn't stay for the whole act but the songs I heard left me breathless.
After these few acts, I decided to go to more folk gigs, just as a way to relax and enjoy something beautiful and share it with other people.
